Round 1 of the School Sports Victoria (SSV) program commenced on last Friday, 3 May within the Year 5/6 cohort.
This term, we have three teams involved in the SSV program – one AFL (boys) team and two Netball (girls) teams.
With only a handful of players having prior experience in the sport outside of the school environment, the majority of the AFL team consisted of players playing their first competitive match. Despite the result not going in our favour against The Lakes this week, there were a number of promising signs to be excited about going into the next round against Epping Views Primary School.
Well done to all the players that made the matchday squad and for working their socks off. All players deserve a special mention for the resilience they showed on and off the field, for displaying professional conduct throughout the day, and for upholding the school values.
