For the first time ever, one of our Primary classes participated in the annual Maths Talent Quest competition organised by the Mathematical Association of Victoria (MAV), requiring students to carry out real world Maths-based investigations. The MAV received more than 370 entries from various schools in Victoria.**
Alhamdulillah, I am delighted to announce that ÌÇÐÄvlogÆƽâ°æ received a Distinction Award.
Congratulations to Ms Sarah Naaman and all of our Year 4C students who created an excellent Maths project as submission to the MAV. The students performed a ‘human card stunt’ to demonstrate their knowledge of a Year 5 Maths Acara code. It involved the complex enlargement of 2D shapes into the image of a kangaroo, incorporating Aboriginal art design.
I would like take this opportunity to thank Ms Sarah for all the hard work and extra hours she spent in planning and working with her students on this exciting project.
