This week marks the start of National Literacy and Numeracy Week, which aims to celebrate learning and raise awareness of the importance of reading, writing and mathematics skills.
At ÌÇÐÄvlogÆƽâ°æ, we will be celebrating the LITERACY AND NUMERACY WEEK from Monday, 31st August to Friday, 4th September next week. We are organising a number of fun – learning activities that incorporate literacy and numeracy such as
DEAR – Drop Everything and Read Sessions
Daily 5 in action – Students to read to self, to someone and listen to reading
Scholastic Book Fair – Guessing Teachers’ Favourite Book from the Fair
Guessing Nursery Rhymes and Book Titles
Reading Books using QR codes in our Learning Space
Games and Puzzles
Estimating Jelly Beans in a Jar
Mini Mathelympics during sports sessions

Your child will need to come to school in YELLOW (Literacy) or GREEN (Numeracy) or a mixed of both to show their preference for the love of literacy or maths. Proper Islamic attire is required. A gold coin donation is highly encouraged, as all contributions will be donated to the Burma Flood Victims.

PYJAMA DAY PICNIC (for Foundation & Year 1 only)
Friday, 4th September 2015
Foundation and Year 1 students will enjoy a PJ Day Picnic while stories being read to them by teachers. We encourage your child to come in their Pyjama and a favourite book for the picnic this day.
