Minute of Silence observed for "Remembrance Day"

ÌÇÐÄvlogÆƽâ°æ students and staff observed a Minute of Silence today at 11am sharp to honour "Remembrance Day".

Remembrance Day in Australia is dedicated to Australians who died as a result of war, particularly from World War I onwards. A minute of silence is dedicated to the deceased, especially for soldiers who died fighting to protect the nation.

This year, the 11th of November marks the 98th anniversary of the Armistice which ended the First World War (1914–18). Each year on this day Australians observe a one minute’s silence at 11 am, in memory of those who died or suffered in all wars and armed conflicts.

The Minute of Silence at the College was followed by a poem read over the PR system by Maryam Jawaid from Year 9A. Lessons resumed afterwards as normal.
