Our Year 2 students are integrating Bee-Bots into their Technology classes to enhance their understanding of location in Maths. Bee-Bots are programmable floor robots designed specifically for younger students, featuring a user-friendly interface that helps teach control, directional language, and programming concepts.
The students engaged with the robots by exploring their functions, designing and planning tasks, and following and describing algorithms involving sequences, branching, and iteration.
Additionally, they had the exciting opportunity to work with Edison robots, expanding their knowledge by learning about sensors and their applications in the real world.
The incursion concluded with a mini robo-sumo competition, where students used simple programming to compete. It was a fantastic and enjoyable way to introduce our young students to the world of Robotics.
